AeScripts – PathSmith
🥳 Orginal Version / Lasted Version / Activation Code 🥳
PathSmith is a path toolkit panel for After Effects. Link mask and shape paths across comps, animate layers along them, and edit paths in ways AE can’t: boolean on masks, rounded corners, clean morphs. 21 tools, 9 languages.
Description
Every path tool After Effects is missing.
Link, animate and rebuild mask and shape paths from one panel. 21 tools, 9 languages.
One panel
Pick a source, then click
Capture any Mask Path or Shape Path once. Every tool that needs a source uses it.
Find tools fast
Search, five categories, favorites, and a compact bar for the helper tools.
Your language
English, Turkish, Chinese, Hindi, German, Spanish, French, Italian and Portuguese.
One path drives the rest
Link mask and shape paths to a source path, across layers and compositions. Edit the source once and every linked path follows.
Link
Select any number of paths and click Link. They are expression-linked to the captured source, even in another composition.
Multi Pick & Multi Link
Capture several sources at once, then link the same number of targets in order: target 1 to source 1, target 2 to source 2.
Motion along paths
Put layers on a path and keep them there. Everything stays live, so editing the route later updates the animation.
Moves layers along a path with a Path Progress slider from 0 to 100. Keyframe the slider, or bake the path straight to Position keyframes.
Can face the direction of travel, and the layer’s own rotation still works as an offset.
Distribute
Spreads the selected layers evenly along the path. Change the path and the spacing stays even.
Pin
Pins each layer to one vertex, in selection order. When the path animates, the layers ride their points.
Wiggle
Orient
Turns path-facing rotation on or off for every linked layer at once. Handles 3D layers.
Look At Null
Adds a null and aims every selected layer at it. Move the null and they all turn with it.
Null Per Vertex
One null for every vertex, in either direction: the path drives the nulls, or the nulls reshape the path.
Edit paths the way AE can’t
Boolean operations, rounded corners and clean morphs, on shape layers and on masks.
Boolean
Select two layers and choose Union, Subtract or Intersect. The result is real, editable geometry, and it works on masks too.
Round Corners
Rounds every hard corner with the radius you set, including masks, which After Effects can’t round natively.
Simplify
Turns traced or hand-drawn paths into clean curves with only the points they need.
Match Points
Gives paths the same vertex count without changing their shape, so morphs interpolate cleanly.
Snap Vertex
Moves one vertex exactly onto another to close a gap or lock two paths together.
Reverse
Flips the path direction, which fixes a Trim Paths animation that runs backwards. Works on keyframed paths.
Open/Close & Split
Opens a closed path or closes an open one, and splits a path at any vertex.
Style and draw-on
Arrow
Turns any path into a finished arrow: line, dashes, taper and a head on either end. The path stays a normal stroke, so Trim Paths keeps working and the head rides the tip.
Shape Styles
Fill, stroke, animated dashes and opacity for every selected shape layer, with presets you can save.
Trim
A one-click draw-on rig for shape layers and masks, keyframed and ready to retime.
Utilities
Bake
Makes expression-driven animation permanent, so a project can be handed off to someone without the panel.
Length
A live slider with the current length of the source path, for counters and anything else that needs it.
Health
Scans the whole project for broken expressions and takes you straight to the layer.
Built for real projects

- Localized AEExpressions use matchNames, so links work in any AE language.
- Live by defaultLinks and motion stay expression-driven until you bake them.
