AeScripts – LightWrap

AeScripts – LightWrap

🥳 Orginal Version / Lasted Version / Activation Code 🥳

LightWrap blends the light and color of a background layer around the edges of your foreground, the classic light-wrap that sells a composite. Plus an optional glow, a directional gate, and background color-correction, all built in. Resolution-independent and GPU-accelerated. No precomp needed: pick a background layer and move and animate your foreground freely, the wrap updates live. Works on footage, text and shapes alike.

LightWrap on live layers — no precomposing

Key Features

  • No precomposing, pick the background layer, foreground stays
    live
  • Wrap a chosen Background layer into the foreground edges,
    driven by its alpha
  • 7 blend modes: Normal, Screen, Add, Lighten, Soft Light,
    Overlay, Multiply
  • Radius, Width and BG Blur to shape how far and how soft the
    wrap reaches
  • Intensity 0–200%
  • Luma-based wrapping with adjustable tolerance, or disable
    luma weighting
  • Light Wrap Only, output just the wrap for
    compositing/inspection
  • Light Glow, a background-tinted halo with its own Intensity,
Size, blend (Normal/Add/Screen) and independent Inside / Outside
    falloff
  • Direction, restrict the wrap to a directional arc: Center,
    Angle, Spread, Falloff
  • Color Correct, grade the background before it wraps:
Saturation, Exposure, Tint + Tint Amount
  • Honors track mattes, Time Remap, and motion blur
    (shutter-accurate)
  • 8 / 16 / 32-bit, Smart Render, GPU accelerated (CUDA on
    Windows, Metal on Mac)

Live text and shapes

Light wrap on a live text layer

Direction control

Gate the wrap to one side of the frame, set the Center and Angle, widen the Spread, soften the Falloff. Great for a single strong light source behind your subject.

Direction gate — wrap restricted to an arc

Use cases

  • Integrating a foreground element into a background plate — no
    precomp
  • Light-wrapping live text and shape layers
  • Faking rim / bounce light from the environment
  • Stylized glow and edge treatments

Compatibility

After Effects 2024 and above, Windows and macOS. 8 / 16 / 32-bit, Smart Render. GPU-accelerated: CUDA on Windows, Metal on macOS with a CPU fallback for Software Only rendering.

Note for 3D comps: if your composition uses 3D layers, add a real Camera layer (or use View → Create Camera from 3D View). After Effects’ default camera isn’t fully exposed to effects, so without a camera layer the result can sit offset. 2D comps are unaffected.
