AeScripts – Diorama 3D
🥳 Orginal Version / Lasted Version / Activation Code 🥳
Diorama 3D is a real-time 3D viewport for After Effects. Orbit your comp, grab layers, cameras and lights with gizmos, and every move writes straight back to the timeline.
It adds what After Effects is missing in 3D: rigid body physics that bake to keyframes, force fields, editable motion paths, 3D alignment and distribution, and formula-driven arrangements you can keyframe or describe to an AI assistant.
Shooting live action? Build a point cloud from the camera track and reconstruct the set, so your 3D layers sit on real surfaces.
Description
After Effects plugin / Windows and macOS
A real 3D viewport, inside After Effects.
A live 3D view of your comp inside After Effects. Orbit the scene, move layers, cameras and lights with a gizmo, run physics and arrange layers with formulas. Every edit is written back as normal layers and keyframes.

What it does
Everything writes back as standard keyframes
Your comp as a 3D scene
A live 3D view of the comp, docked next to the comp panel. Orbit, pan and zoom around the scene, also during playback, and move layers with a snapping gizmo.
Changes sync both ways between the viewport and After Effects.
- Standard (W, E, R) or Blender (G, R, S) keys
- Textured, solid and wireframe display, with real-time shadows
- Draggable focal plane for camera focus
Orbit / gizmo / snapping

Docked next to the comp panel, with the Tools panel for physics, align and point clouds on the right.
Motion paths in 3D
Position keyframes are shown as a path in the scene, with bezier handles that can be edited from any angle.
Alt-click the path to add a keyframe.
Spatial keyframes / bezier handles
Physics on ordinary layers
Rigid-body physics for 3D layers, parametric shapes and imported models, with force fields and constraints. Simulations bake to regular keyframes.
- Built on the Jolt physics engine
- Trajectory preview for launched objects, including bounces
- Animation hand-off from keyframes to physics
- Unbake restores the original keyframes

Align and arrange
Align tab / Custom
Arrange layers with a formula
Arranges the selected layers with a preset or a formula, updating live as you edit. Sliders defined in the formula appear as sliders in the panel.
Applying it parents the layers to a null with those sliders as Slider Controls, so the arrangement can be keyframed or moved as a whole.
10 presets / formulas / keyframable sliders

Presets, or your own formula
A formula is a few lines of math that run once per layer, using the layer’s number i and the layer count n.
- Position, scale, rotation and aim per layer
- Lists, loops and
random() - Errors are reported with their line number
- Copy LLM instructions copies a prompt for ChatGPT or another chatbot, so it can write formulas from a description of a shape
Point cloud
Builds a point cloud from a 3D Camera Tracker solve, for lining layers up with footage. Reconstruct Scene makes it denser.
Camera tracker / densify
Effect overflow
Glows and blurs that extend past a layer’s edges are shown in the viewport as they render.
Overflow capture
Primitives
After Effects’ 3D shapes, such as cubes, spheres and cylinders, placed by dragging in the viewport.
Parametric meshes
Copy and paste
Copy and paste layers in the viewport, within a comp or between comps.
Ctrl+C / Ctrl+V
Performance
The viewport can freeze during playback or be paused, so it doesn’t slow After Effects down.
Playback / pause
- Ground planeCan be tilted to match footage. Placement, snapping and physics use it.
- ShadowsReal-time shadows in the viewport
- KeybindsStandard or Blender controls
- UndoUses After Effects’ undo
- PanelsDocks like any After Effects panel
