Cinematic 3D Transitions for After Effects & Premiere Pro
Five powerful transition modes built on a cube-based engine. GPU-accelerated. Real-time. Stunning.
Meet Block Transition.
A brand-new transition plugin for Adobe After Effects and Premiere Pro that turns ordinary cuts into eye-catching 3D geometry.
At its core; a grid of cubes, each face projecting your outgoing and incoming shots. What happens between them is where the magic begins.
Five unique modes. Endless combinations. One seamless transition.
The Five Modes
1. Cube Flip
A grid of cubes rotates 90° or 180° to reveal your next shot.
Choose from multiple rotation directions and transition shapes. Sweep left to right, expand from the center in an oval, or use the built-in randomizer to make the pattern irregular and organic.
As the cubes turn, their edges dynamically round off and a reflection map with highlights is projected onto them. Cubes stop looking flat and start looking like polished, gleaming surfaces. A subtle shadow adds depth and volume to every rotation.
90° mode: cubes rotate a quarter turn, keeping the transition clean and snappy.
180° mode: cubes rotate a full half turn, revealing an extra face during the transition, tinted in any color you choose.
More color. More drama. More impact.
2. Bar Flip
Same as Cube Flip, but instead of cubes you get long bars sweeping across the frame, rotating 90° or 180° to reveal your next shot.
3. Labyrinth Dynamic
The grid collapses into a funnel-shaped tunnel stretching away from the camera. Side faces become visible, textures stretch along them, and the camera flies forward, then turns left, right, up, or down (your choice), with optional final tilt: none, 90° clockwise, or 90° counter-clockwise.
In the new corridor, a fresh set of cubes appears with your final shot’s texture. They drift randomly outward, then smoothly collapse into a flat plane, becoming your ending frame..
4. Labyrinth Static
Same tunnel, new rules. Cubes are pre-stretched in depth and don’t move at all. All animation comes from camera movement alone.
In the new corridor, a fresh set of cubes appears with your final shot’s texture. They drift randomly outward, then smoothly collapse into a flat plane, becoming your ending frame..
Chain Mode 3 and Mode 4 together and you get the sensation of flying through an endless labyrinth. With multiple direction and tilt options, the combinations are virtually limitless. No two transitions ever look the same.
5. Block Mesh
Cubes scattered in 3D space, with incoming and outgoing images projected from different axes. The camera flies from one axis to another, creating a true sense of three-dimensional depth.
Like Modes 1 and 2, cubes dynamically round off during the transition, catching gorgeous highlights from the reflection map.
Features at a Glance
- 5 unique transition modes — Cube Flip, Bar Flip, Labyrinth Dynamic, Labyrinth Static, Block Mesh
- Adjustable cube density — control the grid resolution in every mode
- Highlight Edges — tint cube edges with custom color, thickness, and dynamic opacity ramp (visible only during the transition)
- Motion Blur — eliminates strobing on fast transitions
- GPU-accelerated — near real-time performance on most modern PCs and Macs
- Perfect first & last frames —as a true transition, your start and end shots remain untouched
Built for Premiere Pro. Powered by After Effects
In Premiere Pro, Block Transition installs directly on the timeline between clips. Pick a mode, tweak it if you want, set the duration, done in 2—3 clicks.
No After Effects required. No steep learning curve. Just powerful, geometric, cinematic transitions, right where you edit.
For After Effects users, the full plugin
opens up complete creative control.
